  • Walkers must be registered to do the Herm prior to the day of the walk by completing an entry form (available from the World Aid Walk website www.worldaidwalk.org.gg) and receiving an allocated number and sponsorship pack from the organising committee.
  • The walk is approximately 5 ¼ miles /8.5km long and takes in most of the coastal paths as well as the Spine Road which runs through the centre of the island. The walk starts and finishes at Herm harbour. There will be one checkpoint and water station at Robert’s Cross. Herm paths are uneven in places so appropriate footwear should be worn.
  • The boat leaves Guernsey at 08.30 on Monday 2nd May. Please show your sponsorship form at the Travel Trident ticket kiosk by the Weighbridge. Travel Trident has generously agreed to donate half of the fare of walkers taking part to the World Aid Walk charity. Ticket price: £8.00 per adult and £4 per child. Payment for boat tickets is by cash or cheque only
  • The walk will start at 09.30 at Herm harbour. Walkers must check in at the harbour before the walk. You will be given your walker number which must be worn on your back.
  • The walk will go ahead in rain but in case of strong winds and disruption to the Trident ferry service please call 750000 for more information.
  • No entries will be accepted on the day from walkers travelling from Guernsey.
  • The numbers for walkers taking part in the Herm walk are limited. Once the number is reached no more entries for the Herm walk will be accepted.
  • Return boat times to Guernsey on 2nd May: 12.35, 14.35, 17.35
  • When walkers have completed the walk they will be given a tea, coffee or soft drink at the Snack Bar in the Mermaid Tavern courtyard on production of their walker number - courtesy of Herm Island Ltd.
  • Those taking part in the Herm walk will be raising money for the World Aid Walk charities: Oxfam, ActionAid, Christian Aid, The Tumaini Fund, Save the Children and Hope for a Child.
